I’m sure that we are all aware of the real work that congressmen do on our behalf. This constituent work consumes a great deal of their time while at home. I got to observe two members of Congress in action June 6. At a very nice venue, the Mildred Sainer Music & Arts Pavilion on the campus of New College in Sarasota, we attended a meeting of area veterans. We really get to see a lot of neat locations in this business. You should all try to get out more

U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key, filed a bill this week that would remove a cap on financial liability for oil companies responsible for accidents. The current law limits financial damages to $75 million for companies responsible for a spill.
