Triathlon plan pulled from Longboat

National media attention as well as possible traffic headaches will not occur on Longboat Key now that Revolution 3 Triathlon withdrew a request from the town to hold the biking component of a triathlon on Gulf of Mexico Drive next year. The group approached the Town Commission Nov. 7 and told commissioners that Longboat Key would be featured prominently in a CBS nationally televised half-hour show.
