New Vision Plan has two major flaws

I believe the Vision Plan, as presented, is fundamentally flawed in two important ways. The first is the hopeful belief that increased tourism is somehow going to be our salvation. The second is the lack of recognition that Longboat Key is a big retirement community where the average age is over 65 and has been for more than 10 years. Since we are fully built out, no dramatic changes can be easily made. And, many aspects of town operations are geared to the needs and problems of older people. We don’t want to dilute this.
