The recent Longboat Key election, where a polarized community narrowly elected a candidate, has illuminated a basic problem confronting our community. Is it possible to perceive a clear mandate when there is no clear majority? The current commission claims to be the Bolshevists (the majority) and to have the overwhelming support of the community.
