Mar Vista sizzles at fish fry fundraiser

Fish was the catch of the day last Friday, Oct. 12, at the annual Longboat Key Old Fashioned Fish Fry at Mar Vista to benefit the Longboat Key Historical Society Inc. The fun included Blues Pig, headed by Longboat Key Police Capt. Steve Mislyan. Also in attendance was Town Manager Bruce St. Denis, who joined Blues Pig on the 12-string guitar for a set.

Longboat Historical Society hosts annual Fish Fry

The Longboat Key Historical Society will hold its annual Pioneer Days Fish Fry fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15 The Fish Fry will feature fried mullet and grouper, as well as fried green tomatoes, cheese grits and other food from Mar Vista Restaurant, and two complimentary glasses of wine or beer. Blues Pig will entertain. Tickets are $25 each. Mar Vista, 760 Broadway, Longboat Key.
