A community center?

One of the questions I am most asked is how I seem to keep up with what is happening on Longboat Key since I don’t live there anymore. It is a very good question, and when I hear from two of my readers that they have been told by friends that they are not comfortable with showing any favor to the contender for the Town Commission, Ray Rajewski, because they might suffer some consequences, I do feel that I do no longer know the town.

Longboat Key Pass Bridge under construction

Beginning the week of Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin applying permanent striping to the roadway as part of the ongoing construction project on State Road 789 (Gulf Drive) from the Longboat Key Pass Bridge to Cortez Road in Manatee County. There will be temporary lane closures and nighttime work between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Weather permitting, this activity is anticipated to last for three weeks.
