Longboat Key Deputy Chief Martin Sharkey is retiring following 31 years of dedicated service. Sharkey’s retirement spells changes for the Longboat Key Police Department as well as the start of what Sharkey, as known to friends, says is an exciting new direction.

The annual St. Jude luncheon held in November every year on Longboat Key has collections for the event underway. At the front desk of the Casa del Mar general manager D.M. Williams has placed a five-gallon container for donations to the event.
