In loving memory

Deadly rip currents claimed the lives of two siblings Thursday afternoon while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico on the north end of Anna Maria Island. Gerardo Hernandez who is estimated to be in his 60s and his sister, Josefina Pardo, 71, were pronounced dead at Blake Medical Center. Two other family members were hospitalized, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
