Now that Vice Mayor David Brenner has secured a second term on the Longboat Key Commission by beating candidate Ray Rajewski in the Town election, this Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m., the commission will have to name a new Mayor for 2012. Currently, Mayor Jim Brown holds the title.

The Sarasota Open is excited to announce the addition of its second player in the 2012 Ladies Invitational Tournament, Dasha Sharapova. The 16-year-old IMG Bollettieri Academy student began playing at the age of five and moved to America from Russia when she was 9-years-old.
