Ocean Properties, Key Club and Town putt together for new Cultural Arts Center

Ocean Properties and the Longboat Key Club held its annual charity event recently that featured a golf tournament and a grand finale on Saturday night that benefited area and national charities. The event also included a putting challenge wherein Ocean Properties, which operates the Resort at Longboat Key Club, awarded Town of Longboat key officials if they could sink a ball. The money was contributed — a total of $22,450 —  to help in the Town’s quest for an Arts, Culture and Education Center near Town Hall. Ocean Properties President Mark Walsh and Longboat key Club Golf Pro Terry O’Hara joined Mayor George Spoll along with commissioners Jack Daly, Irwin Pastor, Ken Schneier, Jim Brown and Randy Clair,  Town Manager Tom Harmer, Assistant to the Town Manager Susan Phillips, Longboat Fire Chief Paul Dezzi and Longboat Police Chief Pete Cumming in the event. Each player attempted to sink four holes. For each hole-in-one, they netted $750 toward the Center. A two-putt earned them $500 and three-putt amounted to $300.
