A great job by the Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key to put this event on for the tenth time in the past 35 years. Kiwanian and restauranteur Michael Garey was project chair for his second consecutive year and the event was even better than the first year. Your photo of “three wise men” featured two of them as fellow Kiwanis members, who enjoyed the fruits of their labors on a characteristic sunny day. Kudos go out to the Longboat Key Club for use of their facilities, and to Chuck Whittall for his lead sponsorship. Kiwanis will be able to award over $50,000 in scholarships and grants, based on the “profits” from this event. Kiwanis thanks all the restaurants who participated while welcoming several new players. Finally, we at Kiwanis (which meets Thursday mornings at the Harborside Tavern at 7:30) wish to thank the 1,000 who turned out on that first Saturday in December, and hope to see you back in 2017.
