Garden Club and Kiwanis pair up for ‘fun’draiser

The Longboat Key Garden Club and Longboat Key Kiwanis Club have paired up for an exciting new ‘fun’draiser on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 each and limited to 200 guests.

The Dinner & a Movie themed evening begins when ticket holders arrive at the Longboat Key Club Islandside driving range and get behind the wheel of a golf cart and head to the “drive-in” movie. Key Club chefs will serve a delectable dinner at tables set for your pre-movie enjoyment. Wine and beer are included in the ticket price.

A putting contest at 7 p.m. will pit those skilled, and not so skilled, against each other for bragging rights and a great prize to the winner!

The featured movie at 8 p.m. is Tin Cup, starring Kevin Costner, Rene Russo, Don Johnson & Cheech Marin. Popcorn and concessions are available for a movie-time treat.

The raffle drawing will be held at 7:45 p.m. with the Grand Prize of US Open Golf Championship for 2 people, VIP passes for Saturday and Sunday includes access to the food and beverage tents during both days of play, round trip airfare, and 3 night hotel accommodations.

2nd – jet for 6 to Key West for lunch

3rd – passes for 4 to the new CineBistro at Southgate Mall (formerly Saks Fifth Avenue)

4th – Longboat Key Club Golf package for 4, includes cart and greens fees and Lunch

5th – 2-day boat rental from Cannons Marine

Silent and Live Auction prizes include:

– A limited edition golf club designed for the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial Golf Exhibition in Philadelphia. (Duplicates of this coveted club were presented to President Gerald Ford and Bob Hope at the Exhibition).

– An original painting by Barbara Jendrysik, one of Longboat Key’s talented artists,

– Portrait Session with Mary Lou Johnson

– golf for 4 at Laurel Oaks

– golf for 4 at The Founders Club

– Annual membership for 2 to Sarasota Film Society

– dinner & movie packages include movie passes paired with dining certificates to various local venues such as: PattiGeorge, Dry Dock, Mar Vista, the Sandbar, Mattison’s City Grill, Owen’s Fish Camp, Nancy’s BBQ, and more.
