St. Armands home bought for $4.25 million demolished by Tampa Bay Lightning owner

Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik purchased a 12-year-old waterfront mansion on Sarasotaโ€™s St. Armands Key for $4.25 million, and he will demolish, and rebuild the home.

The home was built in 2001, and is a two-story, 6,125 square foot, four bedroom, four and a half bathroom house with a fireplace, pool, spa and dock.

Vinik, who owns the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League and about 20 acres of land near the arena, has an estimated net worth of about $515 million.

The 23,758-square-foot lot, at 112 N. Washington Drive, is two blocks from the shops of St. Armands Circle.
