Holiday Beach Resort to be demolished next week

The Holiday Beach Resort (not the Holiday Inn) will be demolished this week to make way for construction of the 11-unit Infinity Condominium.
Beginning demolition will start Thursday, Aug. 1 and the three days prior to demolition, Longboat Key Fire Rescue will use the site for drills.
The resort was built in 1956 and the Bleu Claire condominium was  planned for placement at the site in 2007, but was placed on hold due to the economic downturn. Then in March, Michael Saunders & Co. unveiled the Infinity Condominium project, consisting of the same basic footprint as Bleu Claire with an updated design.
The project consists of nine three-to-four bedroom units and two penthouse units. The units range in cost from $2,825,000 to $4.95 million.
Nell Leffel, of Michael Saunders & Co.’s New Homes & Condominium Division, is the sales associate for the project.
