Jean Zirinis, Longboat Key resident, dies at age 81

Jean P. Zirinis, of  Longboat Key and Southampton, N.Y., died on Saturday at Southampton Hospital at the age of 81.

Jean was born in New York City and she met her husband, Basil, at NYU Law School where they both graduated with law degrees in 1957. They were married 54 years at the time of her death. In addition to her husband, Zirinis is survived by sons Basil Zirinis III and Ian Zirinis, sister Arlene Ritz Ojalvo, and grandchildren, Alexandra, Basil IV and Nicholas George Zirinis.

Services will be held at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton Village officiated by the Rev. Mike Vetrano beginning at 3 p.m. A private cremation will follow.
