The court’s opinion and written denial in Key Club approval
On Aug. 29, The Second District Court of Appeal and a panel of judges unanimously and decisively sided with the Islandside Property Owners Coalition over the Town of Longboat Key when it upheld a lower court’s ruling which quashed the Longboat Key Club’s $400 million development plans at Islandside .
In short, the lower court ruled, and the appeal court upheld that the Longboat Key Town Commission in approving the Key Club’s development order at Islandside, violated its own zoning laws. Here is the Court’s denial and written opinion:
