Carreno Dance Festival returns
Carreno Dance Festival at the Sarasota Opera House returns featuring Jose Manuel Carreno dance variations from “Giselle” with American Ballet Theatre’s Jaulie Kent. Rubinald Pronk will perform a solo as well as a pas de deux with ABT’s Misty Copeland. San Francisco Ballet’s Taras Domitrio will be a guest. Carreno’s fiancée Melanie Hamrick along with and Gennadi Saveliev both make return visits. Artists from the summer intensive workshop will also perform. Junior Stars of Tomorrow, 11 a.m., Aug. 18 (followed by luncheon at 1 p.m.). Tickets are $25-$45. Festival of Stars, 7 p.m., Aug. 24 and 2:30 p.m., Aug. 25. Tickets are $20 $65.
