Bradenton-based business has strong LBK ties

Longtime Longboaters Kent and Heidi Lagro’s daughter and son-in-law have moved to the area from Oregon. Kristina and Scott Rupp along with their daughter have moved to the area to start a public relations firm.

Millerrupp (millerrupp.com), the couple’s new venture, is a Bradenton-based public relations firm that also provides editing and writing services. The firm serves local and national clients, from small and large businesses to individuals, nonprofits and religious organizations.

“We’re following a dream and bringing our passion to businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Bradenton, Sarasota and southwest Florida,” said Kristina Rupp. “Because of our years of experience serving multiple markets and business sectors, Millerrupp is poised to help our clients create opportunities and grow their businesses and brands while bringing their message to the public.”

The couple met while attending college in California. Kristina was studying marketing and Scott journalism and marketing. The couple married at Longboat Key’s Hilton Hotel. After living in Brandon, Fla., where Scott worked as a journalist, they moved to Salem, Ore., where he worked for the state of Oregon in its PR department. The couple had an opportunity to return to the area and start their own business — plus the added bonus of being closer to family.
