Sarasota Memorial employee uses dead patient’s identity

Hours after a man passed away in the emergency room of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, police detectives stated that his identity was stolen by an emergency room patient registration employee.

The Sarasota Police Department reports that Margaret Nunn, 53, admitted to writing down the deceased man’s credit card numbers and driver’s license information and then used them to purchase airline tickets, bridal shoes, pay phone bills and other items totaling over $1,100. Nunn was arrested Wednesday on a warrant and has been charged with Identity Theft and seven counts of Credit Card Fraud.
