Longboat Key Center for the Arts forms new advisory council

Ringling College of Art and Design’s Longboat Key Center for the Arts (LBKCA) announced the formation of an advisory council to imagine a new future direction for LBKCA. The Longboat Key Center for the Arts Advisory Council members are: Tom Aposporos, David Brenner, Ed Brickman, Muffie Cabot, Carol Camiener, Thomas Carabasi, Ed Chiles, Christine Eisner, Claude Engle, Robert Gault, Mary Lou Johnson, Ron Johnson, Barbara Kerwin, Susan Landau, Christine Meeker Lange, Dianne Muir, Christopher Osborne, Joan Partridge, Drayton Saunders, Larry Thompson, Andrew Vac, Lisa Walsh and Michael Welly.

The council was formed as a volunteer leadership group representing different professional backgrounds to assist Ringling College administration in advancing the art center. The council will participate in visioning the center’s future programming, advocating for the arts and creativity locally, nationally and internationally, and it will help in strategic planning to encourage economic development opportunities aimed at attracting area residents and visitors.

The public is welcome to attend a neighborhood meeting at LBKCA from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 to learn about plans for ongoing development at the center at 6860 Longboat Key Drive South. For more info, email LBKCA@ringling.edu or call (941) 383-2345.
