Key Club named No. 1 tennis resort on Florida Gulf Coast
Tennis Magazine has named Longboat Key Club & Resort the No. 1 tennis resort on the Gulf Coast of Florida and one of the top 10 tennis resorts nationwide.
The just-released annual travel issue announcing the “Top 50 Tennis Resorts of 2012” lists the Longboat Key Club & Resort in the No. 1 spot along the Gulf Coast of Florida, placing it as one of the top 10 out of 50 nationwide. The selection process included clinics and game-matching capabilities. Other criteria for inclusion in the list included the number of courts, the quality of instruction and the quality of lodging, dining and overall resort amenities. Tennis concierge services and the location on one of the best beaches in America were also noted.
“I am extremely proud that the Longboat Key Club & Resort has been recognized in such a significant way by such a respected publication, Tennis Magazine. To have achieved a number one position in Florida, and be ranked as one of the top ten tennis resort facilities in the country, among so many outstanding facilities, is truly an honor,” said Longboat Key Club & Resort General Manager Michael Welly.
“We are pleased that our efforts to create a tennis facility and resort destination of this stature have been so well received by tennis pros, professional tournament players, our club members and our resort guests with such enthusiasm. We stand committed to our culture of service excellence and will continue to create award-winning offerings that can only be brought to life by a dedicated and talented staff. Congratulations to my entire team for their outstanding efforts.”

It would be great if they were open to non-resident guests….similar to what the colony used to do….
