Gillian’s shares local favorites with St. Armands
Gillian’s on St. Armands Circle held its first annual music fest, “No Squares in the Circle,” at its new St. Armands location, 7 S. Blvd of the Presidents.
To commemorate the event, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Gillian’s hosted several area musicians including songwriter Rhob Elliott; Gary De Michelle, a jazz composer, percussionist, pianist and composer for feature films and media; Puppet, a local singer songwriter; Barbie, owner of neighbor Creative Gems; and Mike Sales, country, reggae and beach-style musician.
Gillian’s supports local business and many of the products used in the deli are local. Its Working Cow ice cream is homemade in St. Petersburg, and the ‘best fudge in Florida’ is homemade in Sarasota.
Gillian’s opened its doors in July 2011. Owner Pam Magee said she instantly felt at home on the circle. The deli offers a variety of menu items including its famous Cubans and Reuben, as well as a wide variety of coffees, espressos and teas.
