While birding I’m sometimes struck by the effect of light on birds, beaches, wetlands and mangroves. Sometimes a scene touches me deeply. It is then, metaphorically, that I experience the soul of the landscape
The town is once again addressing the idea of constructing a community center. Some are questioning how the center is to be financed. The question I ask: is Longboat Key enough of a community to need a center?
It seems we just heard our first big time political candidate here in Sarasota. We were treated June 16 to a visit by the second presidential candidate of the new political season. Gov. Mitt Romney, now an announced candidate for the Republican nomination for president, was here. The venue was the almost new Sarasota Yacht Club. A fine facility it is too.
