It seems we just heard our first big time political candidate here in Sarasota. We were treated June 16 to a visit by the second presidential candidate of the new political season. Gov. Mitt Romney, now an announced candidate for the Republican nomination for president, was here. The venue was the almost new Sarasota Yacht Club. A fine facility it is too. This was billed as a ‘private’ fundraising lunch reception
