Longboat Key Pass Bridge under construction

Beginning the week of Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin applying permanent striping to the roadway as part of the ongoing construction project on State Road 789 (Gulf Drive) from the Longboat Key Pass Bridge to Cortez Road in Manatee County. There will be temporary lane closures and nighttime work between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Weather permitting, this activity is anticipated to last for three weeks.

Improvements being made as part of this project consist of removing old asphalt (milling) and resurfacing, base work, shoulder treatment, curb and gutters, signalization, highway signing and pavement marking, sidewalks and traffic monitoring.
