The floodgates have been thrown wide open by the unfortunate action of the four commissioners who constitute the quadrumvirate (George Spoll, Jim Brown, David Brenner and Lynn Larson) on the Longboat Key commission. They have dictated the policy that, as Commissioner Hal Lenobel stated at the recent meeting, will result in the Miamification of our beloved Key.

At Longboat Key’s U.S. Post Office you can honor veterans by purchasing the U.S. Postal Service Purple Heart definitive stamp with a 44-cent denomination. With each purchase of a book of Purple Heart stamps the buyer has an opportunity to honor those who have served with a memorial card. The cards were collected by postal employees and are now displayed on the wall.
