Longboat Island Chapel reaches out
‘It is so great to see them cleaned, fed and showered and headed in a better direction than when they came.’

Dr. Peter Mattina, a member of the chapel and on the board of the center, with Adell Erozer, executive director of the One-Stop Center.
Longboat Island Chapel on Longboat Key is bigger than its name but small enough to be up close, personal and compassionate.
One of its many outreach programs is Bradenton’s Bill Galvano One-Stop Center. Food, shelter, clothing, jobs—all necessities that many people take for granted are provided for 200-plus needy people almost every day. By partnering with other organizations such as Our Daily Bread, which is also supported by Longboat Island Chapel, it is able to reach many people in many ways.
Ron Raczkowski, a former client who is now employed full-time by the center, says the center is a lifeline.
“It helps all kinds of people…it is so great to see them cleaned, fed and showered and headed in a better direction than when they came in.”
Adell Erozer, the executive director of the center, says that Longboat Island Chapel has made “all the difference.”
