La Playa makes finals

Longboat Key’s La Playa Condominiums was a finalist in the 2010 statewide recognition program of Condo and Homeowner’s Associations. The event was held at the University of Central Florida’s Orlando campus in the Fairwinds Alumni Center on Tuesday, March 23. There were more than 200 entries in the award competition, and 50 finalists were chosen. La Playa was entered in the Energy and Water conservation category for communities with less than 200 units. It was recognized for being the first to apply for and receive a solar grant from the State of Florida for the installation of solar panels to help conserve energy.
